Eros Murdered?
I wrote this poem earlier today...
When inspiration comes you just have to write it down...
Eros Murdered?
Oh god, just look at him
Lying there, limp and lifeless.
Just sprawled there.
No one,
I mean, no one cares
Do they.
(Only an angel watches over)
No one,
I mean, no one cares
Do they.
Do You? Care?
The cynics told him to reflect
And the Gorgon's mirror he did see.
Oh! But that tragic irony,
The one he was forced to see,
It didn't kill him.
You saw it! I know did.
You saw the contents of that box!
His Pandora's Box!
(Yet Do You? Care? At All?)
You saw how no hope
Existed within it.
Merely pain.
It now lay open
But that didn't kill him either.
So what did?
Simple.
(Elementary my dear Watson,
Elementary)
An Arrow. His very own.
You beautiful Psyche
Shot him down.
Conclusion:
Eros Dead.
Not Murdered.
